Trying out a pocket notebook cover
I got one of these Lochby Pocket Journal things earlier this week and have been using it the last couple of days:

I tend to keep a pocket notebook—Field Notes or similar—in my back pocket, so I thought I might give one of these a try.
It’s not bad, although maybe a little bulkier than I might prefer, especially if I pop a pen inside it. I like the material, though, and it seems pretty well made. The inside has a few pockets, so I guess maybe it hold some cards and replace a wallet if I carried one of those (I don’t). I have also noticed that my phone will fit inside without blocking the zipper, which is kind to cool.
I don’t know that I’ll stick with this one on account of the bulkiness; I am not sure it adds that much value over just carrying the notebook in my pocket without a cover. That said, I may invest in one of their A5-size covers for the Hobonichi.
